What is the difference between an autodetected label and a Map the Paths label?

In detect mode, I see two types of labels. Most images only have autodetected labels, very few have Map the Path labels. What is the difference between the two label types?

Autodetected labels are automatically extracted using computer vision software.

MTPW labels are labels that have been added by Map the Paths users. You can add a label by clicking “Add label” and then drawing the outline of the object on the image.
