MTP Dektop Uploader storage use and speed?

What I have tested is the nadir patching with 43 pics only on an old notebook with 8 GB and an SSD. I find the process extremely slow; unusable for a serious capture stretch.

I observe that next to the source folder, the process creates 3 more folders in the MTP/Sequences tree. I very much appreciate original files are not edited, unlike Mapillary Desktop Uploader. But, why having a copy of those originals plus /final_raw and /final_nadir? Isn’t creating a copy once and editing that sufficient and more efficient? Even if it is truly needed, then why not some storage cleanup afterwards?

Curious to know the difference between the files in these different folders.
